Grilled cheese & tomato soup is a favorite around here, too. I love that tomato soup is so healthy for the kiddos. And since I don’t use “real” butter with the grilled cheese, those have nutritional value too (I use 100% whole wheat bread) with the fiber and calcium.
I hate making grilled cheese, but they sure are tasty. My husband’s always after me to make em when we have chili…we make them with texas toast and white american cheese…hubby’s picky.
I’m a big fan of “grown-up grilled cheese” i.e. Welsh Rarebit. We eat it 2-3 times a week around here.
I think it’d be cool for you guys to try out a couple of good Welsh Rarebit recipes and post your opinions here.
(Of course, now that Stouffer’s makes a kickety frozen verson, I rarely make homemade anymore.)
Mmm…grilled cheese. I like mine to be grilled colbyjack on wheat with sliced dill pickles. Yum.
OMG I looooove grilled cheese. I like them any and every way – old fashioned, and I also have one of those electric grilled cheese sandwich makers. Yum, yum, yum!
